British Hessian Tape Camouflage

 

Bandage

 

Soak in watered down paint (Choc Brown V872) + White PVA glue.

 

Dry and cut into shape. Long thin for gun barrel and oval for the sides. Try and cut some strands as they will hand down and look more realistic. I haven't tried but you could stipple other colors onto the dry bandage (green, light brown, khaki or yellow ochre) before cutting into shape.

  

Add watered down PVA glue to the cutouts, form the shape on a dummy turret and then attach it to the real model with super glue once its dried. The bandage cutout will peel off the dummy turret when dried. When forming the shape tuck in the sides, top and bottom to get a rounded shape.

Coat with diluted PVA glue to harden up the Hessian.
